Kat Pheysey is a sexuality consultant, counselor and educator providing sexuality services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and those who support them. Having worked in the field of IDD for more than fifteen years Kat has seen the need for better sexuality services. This is where her passion for sexuality and people with IDD came together. Originally from the United Kingdom, Kat received her Bachelors degree in Psychology with Neuropsychology from the University of North Wales, Bangor before moving to New York. Here in the United States, Kat continued her education, obtaining her Masters in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, obtaining her LMSW in 2014. Kat then moved her educational focus to sexuality and obtained her MEd in Human Sexuality from Widener University in 2018. Kat earned her PhD in Human Sexuality from Widener University in 2021. The focus of her research was "Factors that Affect the Intended Behaviors of Paid Staff Towards the Sexuality of People with IDD".
